Intern Counseling Services (Sliding Fee Scale)

As part of our commitment to serving the community and supporting the next generation of counselors, Mara Grace Counseling offers sessions with Master's-level student interns.

Intern sessions are offered on a sliding fee scale ranging from $30–$60 per session, based on financial need and availability.

All interns:

• Are enrolled in a graduate counseling program

• Have completed advanced coursework and training

• Receive direct supervision from Dr. Mara Mesa- a Florida Board-Approved Qualified Supervisor

• Follow the same ethical and confidentiality standards as licensed clinicians

This option provides high-quality, affordable counseling while supporting the growth of future mental health professionals.

Self-Pay Rates (Dr. Mara Mesa)

• Individual Therapy Session: $125 per 50-minute session

• Substance Abuse Evaluation (2-hour appointment): $250

• Comprehensive Mental Health Evaluation (2-hour appointment): $250

• EMDR (90-minute to 2 hour session): $200-$250

Self-pay services are due at the time of your appointment unless prior arrangements have been made.

 

Insurance: 

Dr. Mara Mesa is currently in network with select insurance providers.
In-Network Plans:

Dr. Mara Mesa is in network with Blue Cross and Blue Shield (select plans), Aetna, Cigna, Oscar, Oxford, Tricare, Quest Behavioral Health, United Healthcare, all Optum affiliates, and VA Community Care. If you are unsure whether your specific plan is in network, we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to verify your benefits and coverage. Dr. Mara Mesa is considered an out-of-network provider for other healthcare plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.

 

Payments

To reserve an appointment with Mara Grace Counseling, a credit card on file is required.

We accept many forms of payment including:

• Credit and debit cards

• HSA/FSA cards​

• Cash 

Payment is due at the time of your scheduled appointment unless other arrangements have been made.

Cancelation Policy: 

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.

Late cancellations or missed appointments will be charged a $125 cancellation fee.

If multiple consecutive sessions are canceled, we may not be able to guarantee your reserved appointment time due to high demand for services.
