Mara Grace Counseling
Our CounselingTeam.
At Mara Grace Counseling, we are a collaborative team of mental health professionals with diverse backgrounds, training, and lived experience. What unites us is a shared passion for mental wellness and a deep heart for serving our community. We believe healing is not one-size-fits-all, and we are committed to meeting each person with compassion, respect, and care. Our team includes experienced clinicians as well as counseling interns who are thoughtfully supported and guided in their professional development.

All interns practice under the direct supervision of our founder and clinical director, Dr. Mara Mesa. Dr. Mesa is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Florida Qualified Supervisor who remains actively involved in client care beyond the therapy session itself. Her role includes providing oversight in treatment planning, reviewing clinical work, offering regular consultation, and mentoring interns as they develop their skills and confidence. She also provides ongoing training and support to ensure that each client receives ethical, thoughtful, and high-quality care. Dr. Mesa is deeply passionate about investing in the next generation of counselors and creating a learning environment where both clients and clinicians can thrive. Through this collaborative approach, clients benefit not only from the dedication of their intern counselor, but also from the experience, guidance, and clinical leadership of Dr. Mesa.

Counseling with interns
Mara Grace Counseling offers counseling services through two levels of trained interns — master's level student interns and Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns (RMHCIs). Both bring strong clinical foundations, a genuine dedication to the therapeutic process, and the ability to work with children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of life experiences and needs. All intern services are provided under the direct supervision of Dr. Mara Mesa,
our Founder, Clinical Director, Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and Qualified Supervisor.
Dr. Mesa remains actively involved in treatment planning, case consultation, training, and mentorship - ensuring every client receives attentive, high-quality care.
